This chapter serves as an introduction to the full book – Beyond the Nightmare: How to Transcend Sleep Paralysis and Awaken Your Spiritual Gifts. The book addresses sleep paralysis, a term used to explain a terrifying event wherein the sleeper’s mind awakens before their body and they experience a foreboding presence but are completely immobilized. Many episodes involve an evil creature sitting on or pressing down on the sleeper’s chest. In all cases, the sleeper is gripped by fear and unable to wake their bodies. This affects millions of people each year. The books’ perspective addresses sleep paralysis as a spiritual wake-up call that can awaken latent spiritual gifts.

How we look at life matters. My choice was to either become bitter or become better. “Why me” was changed to “why not me?” I knew there were reasons for all I have been through. Some reasons came early, and some have not presented themselves yet. For many years I felt a calling to help others. To reach out and give back from my journey.
In 2016 I founded the non-profit Hope Instilled. Our website, www.HopeInstilled.org, is a unique collection of information and resources. Next, Hope Against Pain is the first action-based, peer-to-peer chronic pain support group. In it I share the actual stages I went through to be alive today. We also offer actions each member can take in their own life. Bitter or better? The choice is yours.
Are you, or someone you know, living with chronic pain? We are an oasis from the darkness of pain. www.HopeInstilled.org
Each person is just an accident or illness away from a life of chronic pain. We go through life thinking nothing bad will happen to us. When it hits us once, it can be devastating. What if it happens again, and again? What if it never ends?
In this chapter you will get a glimpse into my life of unbelievable setbacks. You will wonder when it will all end. Just imagine how I felt experiencing it. You will read about a life of being lost yet never giving up. A life changed in unimaginable ways. From it, I hope you will find appreciation in family and friends who are always there for you.
You will leave with my gift to others living with chronic pain, and those close to them. The possibility to heal.

Enhance your fertility. Become pregnant. Have a baby. Contact me for a proven and reliable system. firstname.lastname@example.org; 613-314-9802
I saw many women during my Obstetrics & Gynecological practice who defined themselves by their condition or diagnosis. Be it unexplained infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss, most women responded similarly: “Why me?” or “How did this happen?” Some fell into deep despair as they focused on facts and statistics related to their particular problem. From my heart centered approach, I listened to their longings and discontents. I helped them verbalize what it is that they would love. I started by taking simple actions to give them some answers. I made referrals. This was enough to create a shift in many of them. Those women found success easily: a baby on board then a baby in their arms! Today I work with women and their wellness domain, using The Universal Laws of Success.

Poison can kill you, your children, your pets and just about any living thing you can think of. This is a fact. Yet, every day, gallons upon gallons of toxic pesticides are sprayed into our communities for the sake of “beautifying” landscapes. In this chapter you’ll learn why achieving a healthier, more beautiful landscape is actually possible and available using naturally based practices, and my five favorite suggestions for getting started.

Are you feeling like you are running on empty? Do you feel stretched thin or overwhelmed? Is it affecting your health?
The most successful and sustainable habits, in health and in life, are not based on an all-or-nothing approach, but a balance of finding strength in imperfection. Healthy habits are flexible, adaptable, and synergistic, working together to build a strong, beautiful and fulfilled life. In order to keep it running smoothly along an often bumpy, steep and winding path to the top, you will need to have routines and systems which you can build with the C.U.P. formula as a fundamental part in your journey to the top, and give power and purpose to your thoughts, actions, and being.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota and has ambitious goals of changing the way America addresses certain health topics related to prevention.
Together, let’s create a culture that is more understanding of individuals’ health needs. email@example.com
My unique health challenges have encouraged me to further professional, societal, and personal discussions centered around self-advocacy and stigma reduction in relation to sexual and mental health. In this chapter, I use my lived experience with stigma to develop a framework through which a broader overview of stigma in public health is discussed. As will be seen, stigma filters through all elements in society; in healthcare, stigma can be fundamentally overcome through a cultural shift which values and understands preventative health efforts. From this chapter, I hope you become encouraged to seek the care you need and, further, become a supportive ally for those surrounding you.
